Charlene “Chat” Almarvez, a 16-year-old De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde student from Laguna, beat more than 30 contestants and won first runner-up in the recently concluded Ford Models’ Supermodel of the World 2010 search held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Aside from winning a US $150,000 exclusive contract with Ford New York, Almarvez will also appear in Fashion Week Fall next month.

Karlina of Latvia won first place, followed by Almarvez, then Isabelle of Sweden, Olivia of the USA, Maryna of Belarus, Grace of Australia and Bruna of Brazil.
Yesterday, we worke up 5am to get ready for Kiara's badminton schedule with her friend Andrea. We arrived 7am and the rain didn't show signs that it would turn fatal...well, except that it has been drizzling since the day before, but other than that, no would-be sign. So I proceeded with my schedule for the day, which was to have my Aunt's iPhone fixed then had that delivered to my Uncle before he heads back to Iloilo.
I never expected that this rain would cause most of Metro Manila to suffer.
Thanks for everyone's texting in and calling us out of sheer concern for us. But we're really ok.
I haven't been blogging recently, I'll blog about it soon. I'm making a quick post since it's really significant that I post this. We've all come to know about the President and her entourage's pricey meal. But what made me say OMG was when it landed on the New York Post, Page Six to be exact. Nakakahiya!
As my title goes, The Arroyo Administration BIG BURP. When you take an oath of office in public service, the highest position in the land to say the least; the people never demanded their President to give up the luxury she once enjoyed. When it's your money, and you didn't steal it from anyone, the hell do i care how you sent it. You can even hire someone one million a day just so your feet wouldn't touch the ground. I wouldn't give a damn. But when it's people's money, it's a different story. You just don't dine in a $20,000 meal.
I'm speechless...and sad. Because we only get to be involved when something like this happens. Hadn't we ever thought about it...maybe the president has spent more than $20,000 a meal of people's money over the last few years and it goes without the public knowing. Is she mocking the Filipino people?? The sad truth is that, she has been...all along.
Now on Philippine showbiz...Everyone I know has been talking about it. Honestly I feel for the women involved especially Katrina.
As a parent and having a daughter I can't seem to imagine how parents of those involved (in any scandal) would feel knowing that the daughter that they've taken good care of would go through public humiliation, to the point of loosing their self-respect.
I don't know what's in it for Senator Bong Revilla but I agree with the legal action that he presents.
Sorry for the delayed telecast. I've actually watch Pacquiao's game on pay per view over at my cousin's newly opened restaurant. We were restless due because the placed is packed already but people still want to have passes just to watch the game.
I was glad to have my own seat in a 90% male dominated place. Everyone was eager to see the people's champ out. And then goes the opening ceremony.
Round one. The first time Ricky Hatton fell, we were all up and screaming our hearts out. The second time, we were basically dancing already. Then Pacquiao gave that punch that Hatton will remember forever. The fall of the hitman on the second round, extraordinary.
The place seemed like we're having our own brawl. It was a riot, in cheers for Pacquiao.
They say, in every man's success and failure, there's always a woman behind.
CONGRATS Pacquiao! More victories to you and more bags to Jinky! hahaha

The Filipino online community is in a buzz about the popularity of these Pinay singing sensation "Rin on the Rox". Rin and Roxanne become famous on YouTube as the "bathroom singers".
