This holyweek I was engrossed with one kid stuff. I'm a PSP user but I'm starting to think of switching. I was just home most of the time so I borrowed my cousin's DS and now I'm addicted to it and desperately wanting to buy one. But I heard they've just released the new Nintendo DSi.
I want the one in pink! I love that they have DSi sounds and dual camera. But I guess I'm not the only one addicted to it. Even Beyonce is a self-confessed DS addict. Check out Beyonce's Rhythm Heaven commercial:
MANILA -- My daughter has been having unexplainable stomachache recently so we decided to bring her to the doctor. What the doctor has to say has surprised us. Her stomachache maybe due to her Havaianas slippers. Say what?!
It was recently reported that Havaiana's kids slipper were found to have lead in it. I'm trying to get into their exchange program. It's too bad since my daughter would never want to be found wearing one.
MANILA -- My schedule's pretty hectic, we're squeezing in everthing we have to do before the 31st. I believe that's just a few days before I head back to Iloilo for the Holy Week. Most of the time we'd be out or on the road stuck in traffic, for some reason it's really traffic these couple of days, it doesn't make much sense since it's actually summer and kids aren't going to school anymore. I've practically made billboards as some sort of visual entertainment most of the time and I've noticed that they've been putting up this sign everywhere in Makati, particularly in Greenbelt.
I've heard radio station DJs plugging "earth hour" every now and then. And I've been telling myself that I'd take part of this. That means giving up both Craig David and John Legend concert in the 27th and 28th respectively. Nah, I didn't give them both up, it just happened that I wasn't able to get tickets of both because we're actually planning on an out of town trip. But me and my siblings would do our part. I hope that through this, I'd convince a few of you to join too. Let's take part of this global movement. Turn off our lights on March 28, 2009 for just an hour 8:30pm to 9:30pm of earth hour.

I'm missing my little girl back in Iloilo. I'm counting the days when she'd be with me here in Manila. She took this picture a couple of days before I flew to Manila.
Coincidentally I wore the same outfit here 2 days ago. These days when I miss her and I have those "alone" times, you'd find me at the mall lusting on those pretty shoes. And they're on sale!
Some styles are at 30% off, while others are at Buy 2 for the price of 1.

It's hard not to think of summer with the heat nowadays. It's even harder to find clothes that are light but not in a beach-mode kind of way. That's when harem pants come into my fashion consideration. It has been hanging around in the catwalk for some time like Balmain and YSL for Autumn/Winter '08. Aladdin style trousers has also been worn by celebrities and spotted in Spring '09 at Alexander McQueen, Betsey Johnson and Chloe.
I never thought there'd come a time when I'd say this but, I've actually been looking for both the trousers and the pants. At first I really thought it was sloppy, but I got convinced otherwise. Lesson learned: Never say never.
ILOILO -- Sunday, we were up early to attend the 8am mass. We drove so fast that it felt like flying already, just to catch up the mass for the chinese new year celebration. We were just in time when we arrived a little over 8am.
Dress code: RED
This mass really meant something for my in-laws so we have to be there. Everything was in tune to the chinese new year celebration, we even have ampao for good luck!
It was a little early for me and Kiara, we could hear our stomach complain. So we headed to the mall and wait until it opens at 10am just to have our brunch.
Well, we all wish for prosperity and luck in this year of the ox. Happy lunar new year everyone!
New Year is always one of the most important time of our lives. I'm not talking about resolutions and what-nots. My mom's birthday is on January 1st, and two days after, it would be my dad's birthday on the 3rd. If my mom were alive she'd be here making the most out of the holidays while we're all still here in Iloilo. But even without her, we still do keep the tradition and celebrate her birthday just as if she was out on vacation. She would have turned 60 with my dad.
Even after 8 years and 5 months, I still get teary everytime I talk about her. It would usually take up a lot of my strength to just talk about her casually before I'd choke up in tears. But what we basically learn with losing my mom was to cherish every moment we have with the people we love. And with dad left with us, everyday, every second is always a gift. So celebrating his birthday was on top of our list on that day. All other schedules were set on a different day. We celebrate my dad's birthday with home-cooked meals in our mess hall.
Family get-togethers are kinda rare these days especially when everybody's busy with their own stuffs, but it's always the best moment. We saved up some of the fire-crackers during the new year, my dad won't pass on that! I do think that my dad looks way younger that any other 50 year olds out there. And he acts younger too, he was game with all the firecracker thingies and he'd find a way to crack up a joke or two.
Happy Birthday Dad! We love you so so so much! We'll always be here for each other.
I don't make new year's resolutions. I never did, but now would be different. I'll make just one. I need to save up for a new macbook.
Want to? Actually it's more of a "need to" statement. So my one and only new year's resolution: To buy a macbook by first quarter of 2009. Maybe by then it'll definitely be a "HAPPY" new year!
Do you feel the pinch of financial crisis? If you're like most spenders that are in your own little place called "denial" then you better get out and...RUN. Honestly, as an entrepreneur I feel scared at times on how things would be by 2009.
I need to secure my financial resources, tighten my belt and hold on to whatever cash I have at hand. Maybe I need this this bag.
Even Paul Smith is prepared and provided a credit crunch bag. Oh well, goodluck to all of us on the coming year!
