It has been released that Lee McQueen indeed commit suicide and thus died as a result of asphyxiation and hanging. Now, the Gucci group, which have a 51 percent stake in McQueen’s company, have announced that the brand will continue despite the designers death.
Robert Polet, president and chief executive officer of Gucci Group commented, "We believe in the future of the brand. Lee was very proud of the people working in his company, and so am I." According to the latest figures, McQueen's business had weathered the recession storm pretty well with sales in excess of £23 million in 2008 as they opened boutiques in Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
According to WWD, McQueen’s inspirations ranged from Byzantine art and Old Master paintings to the carvings of Grinling Gibbons, and each look was worn with a bronzed cap, some spiked with a Mohawk of gilded leaves like a Roman war helmet. The show notes for the final collection were, “Each piece is unique, as was he.” This will be Lee Alexander McQueen’s final collection. He will not be forgotten, R.I.P.

And no need to be a Naomi Campbell or a Heidi Klum, Benetton is looking for unconventional beauties.

In the heights of New York Fashion Week, the fashion industry has been hit with shocking news, Alexander McQueen has committed suicide at his apartment in London.
The British designer was born Lee Alexander McQueen in East London and began his fashion career on Saville Row. He later completed an MA at Central Saint Martins and his graduate collection was famously bought up by Isabella Blow. He won British designer of the year four times between 1996 and 2003. He was the youngest designer to ever receive that accolade.
“On behalf of Lee McQueen’s family, Alexander McQueen today announces the tragic news that Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand has been found dead at his home. At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee’s family. Lee’s family has asked for privacy in order to come to terms with this terrible news and we hope the media will respect this.”
I guess even the fashion world took a second look on boxing. Actually new fall 2010 men's collections are inspired by one thing: violence. And the father of violent sport would no other be boxing. In Paris Jean Paul Gaultier sent models down the runway in boxing gloves and knee pads, their faces adorned with little nose casts and bloody scrapes. Gaultier himself strutted the runway made up to look battered and sweaty himself.
He should have asked the world's famous boxer now, Manny Pacquiao.

The film was inspired by the Chinese adage that "the whole year’s work depends on a good start in spring."
